Gardener, tiler or nail stylist: good photos make your profile stand out. Six simple tips.
Take Pavel, a gardener in our examples. One photo of a garden before and after his work tells an employer more than a page of text. You do not need an expensive camera: a phone is enough.
Six tips
- Use daylight. Take photos during the day, without a flash.
- Show before and after. Take a photo from the same spot before you start and when you are done.
- Keep the picture clean. Move tools and rubbish out of sight.
- Take a close-up and an overview. The details show quality, the overview shows the size of the job.
- Choose your best photos: you can add up to 3. A few good photos are better than many average ones.
- Respect privacy. Do not show faces of customers, house numbers or number plates without permission.
Only post photos of work you did yourself. An employer may ask about the job in the photo, so make sure you can tell the story behind it.
